Today marked the start of some longer distance training!

Andy, along with his training buddy Pete, are now gearing up to take on the longer distances.  The stretch of the River Trent between Holme Pierrepoint and Beeston Lock is conveniently 12 miles which is roughly the same as Lake Windermere.

It was a lovely bright sunny day, a cool 9C.  We head out on the River Trent getting in at Holme Pierrepont and paddled against a fairly stiff current up to Beeston Lock and Weir.

1:50 hours to cover 6.25 miles then 1 hour back to Holme Pierrepont.  So 12.5 miles in just under 3 hours. Not a bad start!

“Really pleased,  that’s more than we’ll have to cover on Windermere and only mildly aching this morning” … a nice chill day on the books tomorrow by the sounds
